Greetings! I am the Founder and Lead Therapist at Life Epiphany, LLC. I am a dedicated and driven clinician with over fifteen years of diverse work experience as an educator, social justice advocate, community activist and social worker. Further, I am a lecturer at Columbia University in the School of Social Work, a resident clinician at Heart Work Counseling Center, and a PhD candidate.

Becoming your best self is a life-long process when anxiety, stress, and pressure make life hard. I can help you find balance one step at a time. As a licensed social worker, my philosophy of psychotherapy is grounded in developing authentic relationships by providing an open and safe environment for the people I serve. I specialize in individual, couples, and sex therapy. I provide a combination of traditional, innovative and leading-edge treatments for individuals and couples who are struggling with emotional, relational and sexual challenges.

MY GENTLE, EMPATHETIC AND COMPETENT APPROACH IS TAILORED TO HELP MY CLIENTS ATTAIN LIFELONG COPING SKILLS.

I believe that you are the expert of your life. My job is not to psychoanalyze you. My job is to be curious and to help you gain more understanding. A good therapist doesn’t claim to have all the answers: A good therapist shares their knowledge and facilitates the process of helping you make your own decisions that are balanced, rational, and well-explored. Strengthening your own reasoning and decision-making skills will increase both your independence and self-esteem. As such, I have an unwavering belief in your capacity to grow and change. I hold a deep respect for people’s own judgments about what they need and how they want to live their lives. I strive to build a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients. Our work together is client-focused and is based on the belief that you must be actively involved in the processes affecting your life.

My approach to therapy is grounded in employing an integrated strengths based intersystem approach. Simply, we focus on you as an individual and the interlocking systems that you navigate daily which includes connecting you with your strengths and the resources that you need to grow. This approach essentially helps people gain a sense of their wholeness mind, body and spirit unearthing a commitment to individual awareness and expression, self-fulfillment, and individual growth. Intersystem values reflect the belief about the worth and dignity of all human beings and the ultimate development of humankind. My approach includes sex therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, mindfulness techniques, and more.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree at Clark Atlanta University, a dual Master’s degree in Social Work and Human Sexuality Education at Widener University. I am a Ph.D. candidate studying Human Sexuality at Widener University’s Center for Human Sexuality Studies.
